Rainy River LTC

Attached to a 24-hour emergency department, the Rainy River Long-Term Care unit accommodates 21 residents with 13 private rooms and four semi-private rooms that create a homelike atmosphere. Residents are encouraged to decorate their rooms to reflect their interests, with many furnishings able to be brought into the facility.

We encourage activity and social interaction through a strong weekday activation program which strives to provide quality opportunities to meet the social, multi-cultural, restorative, emotional, physical, cognitive and spiritual needs of the residents. Weekend activities outside the facility are also planned. Bingo, baking, exercise, music, crafts and current events activities are among those frequently experienced. Volunteers are always welcome to assist with these programs.

Outside spaces are available for the residents and include a screened gazebo and open-air pergola. Pets are welcome in the facility to visit if they are trained, immunizations are up to date and they are well behaved and leashed. The facility also has a whirlpool tub and shower room.

Caring, Together

The Rainy River LTC facility always has a registered nurse on duty and a physician on call. Being attached to the acute care hospital and urgent care facilitates the treatment and care of residents who may require these interventions.
