Dialysis

Riverside Health Care is able to offer limited dialysis treatment for residents in the Rainy River District as part of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre's satellite renal program. This treatment, which is given multiple times a week at the discretion of your nephrologist and other health care specialists, can last as long as four and a half hours per session.

If you feel unwell and require medical attention outside of you regular hemodialysis treatment time, it is advised you visit the emergency department. As a satellite location, referral is necessary and visits to Thunder Bay may be necessary outside of regularly scheduled nephrology visits or telemedicine appointments.
