Breast Health Program
Awareness is a critical component of breast health and Riverside Health Care offers women of all ages opportunities to learn about proactive care and the importance of cancer screening. Components of the program include clinical breast examinations by specially trained nurses, and digital mammograms (x-rays of the breast) when required.
Benefits of Breast Cancer Screening
Getting screened regularly with mammography is important because it can detect cancer early when it is less likely to have spread to other parts of the body. Treatment is more effective when breast cancer is found early, with studies showing significantly higher survival rates.

Self-referrals, physician or nurse practitioner referrals are all accepted under certain criteria. Call (807) 274-1900 with questions, or refer to the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) screening groups.
