Colonoscopy & Gastroscopy

Endoscopy procedures at Riverside Health Care

Endoscopy at Riverside Health Care provides services in colonoscopy and gastroscopy. Using a flexible tube that contains a camera, specialists can look inside your body for a variety of medical conditions including ulcers, inflammation, tears and polyps or other abnormal growths. In many cases, the specialists can treat the condition during the procedure in the throat, stomach, lungs, and intestines. In other cases, the images taken during a procedure are used to diagnose and plan treatment, as necessary.

If scheduled for a procedure, your specialist or primary care provider will give you a list of things to do to prepare, including when to stop eating or drinking and what medications to take. Most procedures require the use of a sedative, so please arrange transportation to and from La Verendrye General Hospital.
