Bearing Witness: An Evening with Holocaust Survivor and Past Riverside Engineer Nate Leipciger
We are honoured to share that Holocaust survivor and educator Mr. Nate Leipciger will be visiting our community and speaking at the Bearing Witness event on Tuesday, October 21, from 6–8 p.m. at the Townshend Theatre.
In partnership with the Fort Frances Museum & Cultural Centre and the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, this free public event offers a rare opportunity to hear firsthand from a man whose life and legacy continue to inspire resilience, education, and compassion.
A 97-year-old survivor of Auschwitz-Birkenau and lifelong advocate for Holocaust education, Mr. Leipciger’s powerful personal testimony is a rare opportunity to bear witness to these dark days and, together, declare “Never Again.”
Before his testimony, the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center will present their impactful workshop, “Lessons and Legacies of the Holocaust,” exploring both the history and ongoing relevance of the Holocaust in today’s world.
Beyond his extraordinary story of survival and advocacy, Mr. Leipciger also has a deep and lasting connection to Riverside Health Care. As Founding President of Leipciger Kaminker, Mitelman and Associates Ltd., an engineering firm with significant ties to our facilities, he played a key role in shaping the region’s health infrastructure.
Through his work with LKM, Mr. Leipciger was instrumental in building the Rainy River Health Centre and Emo Health Centre from the ground up, and was part of major improvement and expansion projects at La Verendrye General Hospital over the years. His contributions helped create the facilities that continue to serve our communities today.
