Respiratory Outbreak Update - Rainycrest Long Term Care Home
October 10, 2025
Respiratory
Outbreak Declared Over at Rainycret
In conjunction with the
Northwestern Health Unit, Riverside Health Care wishes to advise that the respiratory
outbreak on the East Wing of Rainycrest Long Term Care Home has been declared
over. All visitor and resident restrictions on the West Wing have been lifted,
and regular visitation may now resume.
We want to remind the
public that the West Wing and Special Care Unit (SCU) of Rainycrest is
currently under restrictions due to a respiratory outbreak. Visitors are
required to follow the restrictions still in place on the West Wing and SCU of
the home.
Infection prevention and
control practices remain in place, and we encourage all visitors to self-screen
before entering, practice good hand hygiene, and postpone their visit if they
are feeling unwell or experiencing flu-like symptoms. These simple steps make a
meaningful difference in preventing the spread of illness and keeping the home
healthy and safe for everyone at Rainycrest.
We recognize that outbreaks
can be stressful and disruptive, and we appreciate the patience, cooperation,
and continued support of residents, their families, staff, and visitors.
