Respiratory Outbreak Update for Rainycrest LTC
August 05, 2025
Riverside Health Care, in conjunction with the Northwestern Health
Unit, has declared an end to the respiratory outbreak in the West Wing of
Rainycrest Long Term Care Home.
The outbreak remains in effect in the East Wing.
East Wing:
Enhanced visitor restrictions remain in place. Only two (2) visitors
or caregivers may visit at a time, and visits should be limited to one resident
per visit. Visitation must take place in the resident’s room only - common
areas remain off-limits. There may also be restrictions on admissions,
transfers, and discharges. Large group social activities for residents in the
East Wing are cancelled until further notice.
West Wing:
Visitor and resident restrictions have been lifted in the West Wing.
However, we continue to ask all visitors to remain diligent with self-screening
and hand hygiene to prevent the spread of respiratory illness.
Riverside maintains rigorous infection prevention and control
practices to protect the health and safety of our residents, staff, and
visitors. We kindly ask individuals with flu-like symptoms to postpone their
visit. Please continue to practice proper hand hygiene and conduct
self-screening before entering our facility.
Our Outbreak Management Team continues to monitor the situation
closely. The safety and wellbeing of our residents, staff, and families remain
our highest priority.
We recognize the difficulty these situations present and thank
everyone for their continued understanding, cooperation, and support.
