The Community Support Services department has an opening for a Full
Time Adult Day Worker at the Fort Frances/Emo/Rainy River location. The
successful candidate must be able to meet the normal requirements of the job
and possess the following:
QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:
Personal
Support Worker diploma required;
Certificate
or diploma in a health care related field preferred;
Minimum
of 2 years’ experience in a health care setting an asset;
Proficient
in using Microsoft Office applications including EMR an asset;
Valid
CPR certification;
Valid
Drivers License, Class G, and a safe driving record;
Effective
communication skills, both verbal and written;
Understands
and maintains confidentiality;
Experience
working with elderly populations in a community setting;
Ability
to assess and respond to client needs and set priorities;
Ability
to work independently as well as in a team setting
Genuine
interest and understanding for the care and need of the elderly;
Knowledge
of the resources for seniors available in the community;
Dependable
with an excellent attendance record;
Physically
capable of performing the essential duties of the job.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will assist with retention
and guarantee service delivery for the Adult Day program.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Responsible
for attending and planning Adult Day programming for the Rainy River district;
2. Develop
schedule of activities and events for Adult Day programs across the Rainy River
district;
3. Responsible
for ordering crafts, food, and other supplies necessary in the Adult Day
programs across the Rainy River district in conjunction with the Community
Support Services Coordinators;
4. Liaises
with district organizations and resource persons to arrange entertainment
programming for Adult Day;
5. Maintain
and compile attendance records and statistical information as per reporting
procedure for submission to CSS Manager;
6. Assist
CSS Coordinators & Manager in preparing Quarterly Reports for the Adult Day
Program;
7. Assist
in and/or plan the transportation of clients to and from activities relating to
Adult Day Program across the Rainy River district;
8. Organize
Adult Day staff meetings;
9. Liaise
with CSS Coordinators to schedule staff for Adult Day Programming across the
Rainy River district;
10. Collect weekly revenues from
each site an prepare deposit in conjunction with CSS Coordinators;
11. Complete and submit petty
cash purchases in conjunction with CSS Coordinators;
12. Maintain rental site and
Adult Day program equipment as per usage contract;
13. Inventory control of Adult
Day program equipment and supplies;
14 . Regular travel across the
district as needed;
15.Assist with Assisted Living,
Home Support, or any other areas within CSS as assigned by CSS Coordinators or
Manager;
16. Any other duties as assigned
by CSS Coordinators or Manager.
