Vice President, Administrative & Support Services, Riverside Health Care
Riverside Health Care (Riverside) is a fully accredited multi-site,
multi-faceted health care system providing service to the Rainy River District
and is the third largest provider in spectacular Northwestern Ontario. The
Rainy River District is a remarkable place to call home and encompasses diverse
communities across the North West. It is a region defined by resilience,
connection and a deep commitment to caring for one another. Riverside has sites
across the western portion of the District and serves a catchment area of more
than 22,000 residents across 4.7 million acres in Fort Frances, Emo, and Rainy
River. A health-care hub that spans the district, Riverside is an integral
piece of a growing health landscape in their communities, providing inclusive
and accessible service to all residents and visitors.
The Vice President of Administrative & Support Services (VP) is
a pivotal executive leadership role at Riverside Health Care, responsible for
one of the organization’s most diverse and impactful portfolios. Reporting
directly to the President & CEO and serving as a key member of the
Executive Leadership Team, the VP will shape the operational foundations that
enable exceptional patient care across Riverside’s hospitals, long-term care
homes, and community-based services. The VP will provide strategic leadership
across a broad portfolio of corporate and operational services, with human
resources and workforce strategy serving as central priorities. Working closely
with leaders across the organization, they will champion workforce planning,
talent development, labour relations, and organizational culture, ensuring
Riverside is well positioned to attract, develop, and retain the people needed
to deliver exceptional care. Working at the intersection of strategy,
operations, people, and culture, the VP will champion innovation, strengthen
organizational performance, and help shape a high-performing, engaged workforce
that supports clinical excellence.
At an exciting time of growth and transformation, including
significant advocacy for capital investments, evolving models of care, and
increasing regional collaboration, the VP will play a central role in helping
Riverside navigate change while remaining deeply connected to the needs of its
communities. With recruitment, retention, and workforce sustainability
continuing to be strategic priorities across the organization, the Vice
President will help shape the people strategies that enable Riverside to attract,
develop, and retain exceptional talent. As Riverside welcomes a new CEO and
continues to build a renewed executive team, the Vice President will have a
unique opportunity to help shape the organization's leadership culture. Beyond
leading their own portfolio, they will help shape the culture of Riverside's
executive team – fostering collaboration, mentoring emerging leaders, and
building the relationships needed to position the organization for long-term
success.
The ideal candidate is an authentic, collaborative, and
values-driven executive who inspires confidence through their leadership,
judgement, and integrity. They bring demonstrated senior leadership experience
in human resources and labour relations, together with the ability to think
beyond a functional portfolio. Above all, they are an enterprise leader who
understands how people strategy, organizational culture, operational
performance, and strong relationships come together to support exceptional care.
Equally strategic and approachable, they build trust through visibility,
transparency, and genuine engagement. They are committed to developing others,
empowering leaders, and creating an environment where people feel heard,
respected, and supported to do their best work.
The successful candidate will demonstrate humility, curiosity, and
sound judgement, recognizing what they know and where they need to learn. They
will be comfortable working across diverse portfolios, navigating competing
priorities, and supporting organizational change with pragmatism and empathy. Character,
adaptability, humility, and a strong work ethic will be as important as
technical expertise. They will bring a strong appreciation for the realities
and opportunities of rural and remote healthcare, coupled with a
forward-looking perspective on workforce sustainability and system
transformation. Comfortable navigating complexity and balancing competing
priorities, they will build trusted relationships with physicians, staff,
community leaders, government representatives, and regional partners. Energized
by the opportunity to help shape Riverside's future alongside a new CEO and a
renewed executive team, they will be motivated by the chance to strengthen
organizational culture and leave a lasting impact on healthcare across the
Rainy River District.
