Chief Financial Officer

The Finance department has an opening for a Full-Time Compliance and Reporting Manager. The successful candidate must be able to meet the normal requirements of the job and possess the following qualifications:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Compliance and Reporting Officer will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and play a critical role in ensuring that the organization adheres to internal policies and external regulations. This role involves advising on budgeting and financial reporting, recording activities, analyzing data, and issuing comprehensive compliance reports for both internal and external review. The Manager will work to provide essential information and guidance on compliance matters. Additionally, they will be responsible for maintaining communication with regulatory bodies and external agencies, ensuring that the organization meets all legal and regulatory requirements. While this is a management position, the incumbent will not have direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY:

 

  • Four year undergraduate degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business Administration. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CGA, CMA or CA) or ongoing education considered an asset.
  • 5 years of public sector financial management experience; preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • High level of proficiency in Financial Accounting.
  • Extensive knowledge of information systems and financial management software applications (financial suites, spreadsheet, word processing, reporting software, Management Information Systems (MIS) Guidelines, Public Sector, Ministry of Health and Long Term Care reporting requirements), with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly.
  • Experience in preparing proposals considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, complete assignments, versatile, highly motivated, competent, cooperative, shows initiative and is highly organized.
  • Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrates the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Has a high degree of integrity, and high ethical standards. Strictly maintains privacy and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment with excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
  • Dependable with a verifiable acceptable attendance record.
  • Proven ability to perform the essential duties of the position on a regular basis.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

 

  • Report financial and statistical information annually, quarterly, monthly and as required by applicable legislation, regulation, and as directed by senior management.
  • Complete and submit annual, Financial & Statistical Long Term Care, Hospital, Community and Regional reports quarterly, monthly, and as required.
  • Complete benchmark reporting.
  • Statistical Reporting training and education for managers, staff, regional partners and Board.
  • Work closely with partners and other regional health agencies to collect, compile and report regional information.
  • Management, Corporate, Regional reporting dashboards; Long Term Care, Hospital and Community.
  • Collecting and reporting market and census activity quarterly for Rainy River District.
  • Work in conjunction with Health Records, Nursing, Finance, Community Services, Long Term Care, Mental Health & Addictions to meet statistical reporting and regulatory requirements.
  • Statistical Analysis, reporting in compliance with OHRS, Long Term Care reporting requirements, WTIS, community and regional.
  • Undertake Trend reporting, work flow studies, market analysis.
  • Develop policies and procedures for the collection, analysis and retention of data.
  • Monitor analytics and metrics results, implement new data analysis methodologies, review data to ensure integrity of data collection and utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with funding agreements and internal Ministry and Finance policies and practices.
  • Regular review and response of contracts/inquiries from contractors/vendors and other contracted services utilized by the organization.
  • Complete monthly reconciliations and variance reporting.
  • As a team player assist in developing policies and procedures in conjunction with relative department heads and senior leads.
  • Support the organization in budget preparations, new proposal developments and identifying areas for growth and improved outcomes.
  • Performs other responsibilities to support the finance director and CFO

 

POSITION AVAILABLE:

 

  • This Full-Time position will commence: As soon as possible.

 

CURRENT ASSIGNMENT:

 

  • This is a Full-Time position, 75 hours bi-weekly, Monday through Friday
