Quality Improvement Program

The Quality Improvement Program at Riverside Health Care provides for ongoing, planned and systematic activities for monitoring and evaluating the quality of care and services provided.  Accrediation Canada’s quality dimensions guide our Quality Improvement efforts:

  • Population Focus – Work with my community to anticipate and meet our needs
  • Accessibility – Give me timely and equitable services
  • Safety – Keep me safe
  • Worklife – Take care of those who take care of me
  • Client-Centered Services – Partner with me and my family in our care
  • Continuity of Services – Coordinate my care across the continuum
  • Appropriateness – Do the right thing to achieve the best results
  • Efficiency - Make the best use of resources

The Quality Improvement Coordinator and Quality Committee oversee the Quality Improvement Program. Quality Committee’s role is to act in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors regarding quality improvement activities and utilization, in support of the strategic direction and goals of Riverside Health Care and is the Quality Committee for the purposes of the Excellent Care For All Act, 2010 (“ECFAA”)

The Quality Improvement Program utilizes the PDCA improvement cycle:

  • Plan –the improvement and continued data collection
  • Do – the improvement, data collection and data analysis
  • Check – and study the results
  • Act  - to hold the gains, continue improving
